Descope MCP Hackathon: Official Rules
Please read the following rules carefully before participating in the Descope MCP Hackathon.

Team Formation and Participation
The Global MCP Hackathon is a team-based event. Each team may consist of 1 to 5 members.
Each team must have a designated Team Lead, who will serve as the main point of contact. The first person to register the team becomes the default Team Lead.
Participants may only be part of one team.
Registration: Registrations must be completed via the designated HackerEarth microsite. Each team must participate through a single HackerEarth account.
Participants may use the official discussion channels to connect with others and form teams before registration closes.
Teams may not be changed or merged after submissions are due.
Teams can participate in and submit entries for more than one hackathon theme / challenge if they’d like.
Event Format
The hackathon begins on August 12.
All development work must take place between August 12 and September 8.
Submissions and judging will be conducted entirely online after kickoff.
The prize winners will be announced September 12
Each theme will have a set of winners, and additional awards may be presented at the judges’ discretion.
Disqualification Criteria
A team may be disqualified for any of the following:
Submitting plagiarized or previously published work.
Providing false or misleading registration or project information.
Infringing on the intellectual property rights of others.
Violating any of the event’s terms, rules, or code of conduct.
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant or team for any behavior deemed to be in violation of the rules or spirit of the event.
Final Notes
The organizers’ decisions regarding submissions, disqualifications, and awards are final and binding. By registering for the event, all participants agree to abide by the rules outlined above.
The intellectual property of your code belongs to your team. Descope and participating sponsors have the right to use your team name and project for marketing purposes to highlight the 2025 Hackathon, subsequent Hackathons and associated technologies used in submitted projects.
HackerEarth rules
This is a team participation hackathon. You can have at most 5 members in your team.
You can either invite your friends to form a team or you can request other teams to add you as a member.
It's an online hackathon, you can participate from anywhere.
Once the hackathon starts, you will get an option to submit your hack, you can submit as many times as you want, the last hack will be considered as the final submission.
You are expected to come up with new and innovative ideas, any idea that has been copied from somewhere will be disqualified.
Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems / services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.
The intellectual property of your code belongs only to your team.
